Looking up on to MT Washington to see great color. The cog rail train is smoking down the side of the mountain.

Missiles and fall color... Who knew?

Missiles and fall color... Who knew? I mean that isn't the first thing I thought of whne I left the house that day. I mean do you go out and say I'm going to find a missile and red maples! :-)

This is my top ten reasons to go in search of fall color!

I would love to hear your reasons for getting out into the color these 10 encompass why I do it but why do you?

*10 - I love to get out and find a new spot that I've never been to before! (although I do go back and explore those places that have produced good color like Chocorua Lake in NH).

*9 - Getting out gives me a reason to get away from the computer. Don't get me started on that :-)

*8 - I love to meet people who are out looking for the same thing as me. (see right)

*7 - I love to sit down under a big old flame red maple on a sunny afternoon and look up at the back lit leaves (with camera of course). Also a group of sunny yellow birch are real nice too. Don't want anyone to think I'm a maple snob... :-)

*6 - I like to find little back roads that lead to unexpected things that have been long forgotten. Yes look right!

*5 - I like to get up high on a mountain with the sun and clouds highlighting the colorful hillsides with dappled light.

*4 - I sometimes get to share the finding of color with my wife. Sharing the experience is so much more fun... I'm not saying you all aren't all a lot of fun to share my travels with but I'm married to her.. :-)

*3 - Kicking up a cloud of leaves brings back memories of those autumns so long ago, neighbors burning leaves and the scented smoke filling the neighborhood.

*2 - Sharing my photos here at Yankee allows me to bring New England's greatest show of fall foliage to people who may never get to witness a beautiful fall afternoon here in New England.

And My number 1 Reason to get out and find fall color!

*1 - Its the chance to get out and make new memories, practice being in the moment and of course last but never least... IT'S ALL ABOUT THE COLORS!!!

So when or if you get out in the woods remember back on this and if you have a minute, drop me a comment here and let us know what you enjoy most about getting out?
