Kancamagus and Jeff Foliage have something in common
Kancamagus turns 50!
by Jeff "Foliage" Folger
Kancamagus turns fifty on August 14th!
I was informed by my editor that the Kancamagus scenic highway is 50 years old next week. I thought about it and realized that... Holy crap!!! I'm older than the Kanc!! :-)
Once that feeling that you get when you realize that you're older than dirt or older than pavement passed, I decided to look around and see what is happening to celebrate the Kanc's birthday. The first link I found was from Seacoast NH And they have a breakdown of the events happening on August 14 & 15 in Lincoln, NH. The visit white mountains site has a down-loadable schedule. So you can check out both sites and see which ones you like.
Some of the places that have interpretive events are:
Blackberry Crossing Campground
Albany Covered Bridge
Russell Colbath Historic Site
C.L. Graham Wangan Ground Overlook
Pemigewasset Overlook
The Discovery Trail
Lincoln Woods Visitors Center
I'm going to try to get up there and see a couple of these things.. I hope to see you there!
Jeff's Contest
The guesses are slowly starting to fill up on the forum and now that the programming glitch has been corrected I expect a bunch more will be popping in. Remember you can leave a comment in this blog but it's better if you drop a note in the forum. If you want to email me direct with your guess please send email to jeff.foliage@gmail.com.
Remember you can also go to the forum on the Yankee Magazine website and click on the forums then go to the foliage forum and look for Jeff's contest... Or you can just click here to go direct? but the scenic route is more fun.. :-)
Did you know that Yankee is up on Facebook and Twitter?

Fall is getting close and I just went to the East Coast Haunt clubs convention and time is running out for working on my Halloween props for my sister's home haunt in Atkinson NH.
Autumn is almost here and I hope to hear from you throughout the rest of the summer and if you have any questions please feel free to ask them here in the comments section or over in the foliage forumand I and the other forum regulars will do their best to answer them
