Links to fall foliage resources
Webcams and more from Yankee
by Jeff "Foliage" Folger
We all face the same problem in the fall. We try to sift through all the information out there that is on the internet. You have discussion forums like Yankee's online Foliage community to National and State park services tracking the progress of fall color.
Everybody wants the same thing, to be told where the best foliage is right at the moment of peak color? This is the number one question of all questions asked every year and here is the answer. In NH, VT, ME, CT, MA, RI at some point during the month of October at 4:32PM on a Tuesday, somebody will spot peak color? .... Maybe.
The easy answer is, in truth, no answer because no one can tell you where OR if it will be this year? All we can do is guide you on a path that will hopefully allow you to find your own patch of "peak" color.
So with that said here are a few links to help you make your plans for weekend getaways.
First I received a note from a forum regular "Bill" who has put together his own personal webpage that he wants to share with you. He finds foliage webcams from across New England and puts them on his page. I will sadly report that he lives in mid-west New York so be prepared for a couple locations over on the dark side. :-)
Another resource are these websites maintained from mid September until the 1st week in Nov by the state tourism boards. Do you have a favorite? leave a comment and share with the other readers.
New Hampshire's fall foliage site
Massachusetts Fall foliage site
Connecticut's Fall foliage site
(I'm still looking for a Rhode Island fall foliage site, so if you see one let us know...
Until next time...

Hi Jeff and thanks for the boost for my Fall Foliage website. I appreciate it and hope others will enjoy the site.
A minor correction, however, as I am in the Hudson Valley of upstate New York (about 30 miles west of the Mass border).
Here in the Hudson Valley (near Albany), the small villages are much the same as New England villages. The usual steeples, tree lined streets, and a reserved pace of life are typical.
As I find the time, I'll add some pictures from my part of the world to the new site (mostly from Albany, Greene, Schoharie, and Otsego Counties). I will also accept pictures submitted for publication on the site. eMail me for instructions.
