View from the eastern summit... you need to see it this weekend...

We started late on our Columbus Day journey but because we started at 11 AM and by virtue of not traveling up 93 like most folks we didn't see a lot of traffic. We got on route 2A then 2 and proceeded west. We stopped at one of the few rest stops on route to and this one is the John Chapman rest area. Don't tell me you don?t know who Johnny Apple seed was. There is even a small statue of him in front of the welcome center.
Once we hit Erving MA the color really started to pick up and there is also Lisa's newest favorite antique place "The Freight House Diner". We spent a bit of time in here and Lisa found a ceramic cat that she had to have.
On the road the hills that rise above route two were mostly peak but because of the mist and heavy clouds it?s hard to tell the quality of the colors. We stopped along the road a few times to take a few pictures. The final time was at the eastern summit pull out on route 2. The low lying fog merged with the clouds weaving its way through the valleys.
Once we got on route 7 the light fast departed and we passed several towns that we will wait for better weather to visit...
